Tmart, founded in 2009. They are located in Hong Kong instead of the regular Shenzhen area. You could find the regular assortment but there is not one product group where they specifically focus on.
Our personal relation with Tmart is great, we have some ongoing product collaborations about reviews and did never get any ‘real’ issues on the service part. We know that they are working hard on their customer service since the beginning of 2016.
Like most major web shops they offer PayPal and the most important credit cards. Besides that they also offer e-wallets like Webmoney and Skrill (Moneybookers).
Generally speaking is Tmart doing a great job in the shipping and delivery part. Their shipments are often delivered fast and without delay. They offer “Free World Wide Shipping” and give an indication of 7 to 25 business days shipping time (Brazil and Russia could be up to 45 days). However, we always got our package on time and on the internet there are no complaints about their speed in shipment.
They are very clear in how much time it takes to process an order and ship-out the product. Many products are processed within 24 hours (around 80% of all products).
They offer an tracking code for order with an value over $30 dollar. If the value is below $30 dollar you will have to pay $1.70 USD extra to receive a tracking code. If you want to access the logistic information anywhere, you could download the Tmart app.
The parcels are packed according to international standards and take into account their weight, size and volume.
Tmart is probably one of the better websites according to “Returning and Warranty” policies. They have multiple guarantees.
Price protection, when you bought something and the price is lowered before shipping out to you. You will get a refund of the difference and a $2 dollar gift card. This is obviously something else than the “lower price” guarantee of other web shops.
90 Days Money back, one major advantage from buying at Tmart is their policy about refunding your money when you need to ship the product back. They will refund you if you send proof of shipping with a receipt. This is really the way it should go and definitely a plus for this store.
180 Days free warranty, all the products bought from Tmart will have this product warranty. Tmart will repair the products for free or offer a replacement (of course with the disclosure that you did not damaged it yourself through careless use.
If the product fails after 180 days Tmart will still help to send to product back to the manufacturer. But, all costs like shipping fees and repair costs have to be paid by yourself.
Tmart does not offer any service according the custom tax. But according to our knowledge if you want to avoid those you should always chose the regular shipping method. In the case of Tmart that is the “World Wide Free Shipping” method. This is not a guarantee, but the other methods you will have to expect custom taxes for sure.
Tmart has a comprehensive point system, where you can earn points for additional discounts when fulfilling certain tasks. 100 points is worth $1 USD. You will earn the first points by just registering and subscribing to the newsletter.
Other tasks which are more rewarding, are a “text review”, “image review” and “video review”. These will generate 40 points each. The fun part is that Tmart will append points on your birthday and anniversary. This all sounds great and it certainly is.
Yet, there are some small things to notice. Your saved points will reset on June 30 every year. So don’t forget to use them before that date. Another one is that you can’t get more than 10% discount with your points.
Tmart has warehouses in Hong Kong, US and UK. Hong Kong is their international warehouse.
Major advantages to order at the local warehouses are the delivery times and not needing to pay custom taxes.
Most Chinese shops send a lot of newsletters to provide deals and information. Sometimes this could be annoying. Tmart provides a feature to configure your personal newsletter settings. By all means you could “unsubscribe”, but if you are still interesting in certain news you could indicate which information you want to receive. You could define categories, how many times a month and if you want to receive specials.
This is maybe not so special, but certainly an indication about the customer service Tmart is trying to achieve in the last couple of months.
They offer their website in 9 different languages. Which creates a local shopping experience. When buying from China you often have to look for coupons elsewhere, but not at Tmart. They just provide some coupons at your checkout!
Besides the latter they offer “Off-site Product Review Coupons”, you can apply to produce reviews of your purchased products. Place them on your own website and in exchange receive a coupon for your next purchase.
Tmart is an electronics web shop from China with one major unique selling point. Their ”Compensation First” feature when there is something wrong with your parcel. Their customer service is really improved lately. However, when we asked something about their point system they were really kind and reacted fast. But, they could not explain how the VIP system exactly works. Overall this online shop scores average to good on most major points like price, shipping and service.
